Community Security

Rangers continue to engage in proactive, responsive, and accountable community policing programme aimed at providing security for wildlife and the people.

Some settlement areas recorded high vulnerability of security with people losing property and lives to banditry and very historical. This made locals to flee to safer places.

The Conservancy made strategic considerations to establish at least 2 rangers' outposts in the volatile areas, and the outcome has been very encouraging seeing.

With stability and order realized, people trooped back to settle in their once ancestral grounds.

The outposts are:-

  • Nakwamor Outpost established in 2017
  • Lorubae Outpost established in 2022

Whilst the rangers offer security to community people from aggression, they equally recover stolen stocks by Samburu raiders crossing our landscape, and take them to the nearest Police Station, for identification by owners.
